An Appeal
Sainik School Bijapur was started on the 16th of September 1963 at the historical town of Bijapur in North Karnataka, by the initiatives of the then Education Minister of Karnataka shri S R Kanthi along with the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India.
The primary purpose of the School has been to produce codets for the National Defence Academy of India, who then become Officers in the Indian Armed Forces – Army, Navy and the Air Force, Since its inception the school has produced hundreds of Officers same of who now proudly wear the ranks of Air Vice Marshals, Major Generals or Commodores. Our officers have won laurels and recognition medals winning battles for you on our frontiers from Siachen to the North East or fighting terrorism and insurgencies.
The School is proud that it has done well not only in producing young Military Officers, but also producing very successful professionals in all fields, be it : The police Force – IPS, The Bureaucrats – IAS, IRS, IPS & KPS, Political Leaders, Engineers, Business Entrepreneurs, CEO’s of Large Companies in India & abroad, Agriculturists, Medical & Dental Professionals, Lawyers, Financial analysts, Bankers, Academicians, sports – persons, IT, BT, & BPO professionals, Research Scientists etc. you can be proud that this School from your state has etched its global presence. This Alumni Association has its Alumni Chapters in Bijapur, Bangalore, Bagalkot, Davanagere, Bellary, Belagum, Raichur, Gadag, Hubli – Dharwad. Hyderbad, Pune, Mumbai, Vizag, Delhi, New York (USA) & Dubai (UAE).
Every year SSBJ Alumni Association celebrates the success of its achievers in annual convention held over two days in a different Place. Participants come from all parts of India and even same from America/Europe/ Australia/ Middle East. We bring out a Souvenir to commemorate the occasion. This year the Association is conducting its annual convention in Davanagere City, the geographical Center of Karnataka and the “Mecca of Education” in Southern India.
